Aryan Family Values
Aryan families were at the core of Nazi Germany, the backbone of the Third Reich. Promoted by Hitler in the Nazi eugenics movement, ideal German families were blond-haired and blue-eyed, and these Aryans were believed to be stronger and smarter than all other races. Though patriarchal (Germany is actually one of a few countries whose citizens refer to it as the "Fatherland"), motherhood was highly encouraged, so far as awarding mothers who bore four or more children, especially Aryan children. Marriage was very important to Germans of the era, specifically those that would lead to racially pure offspring. Homosexuality and abortion were despised, and the punishment for abortion during the time was actually made more harsh. Discipline and conformity were important, along with Christian values, despite quite un-Christian actions performed by the state. A good man at the time was a father and a member of the Nazi party. Women were to live their lives as housewives, and many were taken out of the work force to fulfill this role. Children should have been in the Hitler Youth Program. Ultimately, pride in the State was important. All in all, Aryan families valued traditional roles, multiple and racially pure children, discipline, and national pride.
Note in the pictures: All the women have recently had children, they are Aryan, and athletic. For further reading, see: http://www.ushmm.org/wlc/en/article.php?ModuleId=10005205
